Run a cup (individual players)

A cup is a tournament for individual players — it is the type shown as cup when you create a tournament. Players are divided into classes, and each class is run either as a knockout draw or as a round-robin. This page covers building those classes and entering players. Add a class

Open the tournament and click new class. The dialog asks for:

• a description — the name of the class as it appears on the page.
• a category — men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles or mixed doubles. This decides whether each match has one player or a pair on each side.
• a type — cup (a knockout draw) or roundrobin (everyone plays everyone).
• number of entries — for a cup class, the size of the draw. The bracket rounds up to the next power of two (4, 8, 16, …).

Add as many classes as the event needs.

Cup classes

A cup class is shown as a knockout draw. Fill the first-round matches with players; as each match finishes, the winner moves on to the next round automatically. The final winner is shown at the top of the draw.

Round-robin classes

A round-robin class is shown as a standings table — position, names, wins, losses, games and points — with the list of matches beside it.

• Click add entry to add a player or pair. Scoreboard Live creates the matches against everyone already in the class.
• To take someone out, open their row and choose remove entry. This also deletes the matches they were in.

Enter players into a match

Click a match to open it and use the participants tab. Each side has one slot (singles) or two (doubles). Click a slot and choose select player — search for an existing player or type a new name to create one. Use edit player name or clear to change a slot.

Putting matches on court

However a class is run, its matches are scored in the umpire app and shown on screens once you put them on a court — see Venues, courts and assigning matches.
